Hi, I’m Margaret. I'm a mother of breastfeeding twins (pictures at the end). I have fifteen years of professional experience as a labor and delivery nurse, postpartum nurse, and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
Let me tell you a quick story...
After overthinking breastfeeding and baby sleep early on with my twins, I ultimately let go of the rules that were becoming impossible to follow.
When my babies were newborns I was exhausted and became obsessed with answering questions like:
Will my babies ever sleep on their own?
Am I creating bad habits?
Are they getting enough milk?
I wanted answers and the advice I found was conflicting and overwhelming.
Everyone had a different answer.
There was so much noise!
If I had tried to keep up with the baby sleep gurus and the feeding advice I would have lost my mind....
And I know my breastfeeding journey would have been cut short.
I know this because basic lactation science supports responding to our babies instead of following a set of rules.

This gets to the heart of what every breastfeeding mother deserves to know...
You deserve to know that when you interfere with baby's cues and rhythms it's likely that your milk supply will suffer.
You deserve to know that every mother and baby couplet is different. So feeding and sleeping patterns are going to look different for everybody.
And guess what?!
Your baby's unique pattern is meant to maintain your milk supply without you even thinking about it!

I'm here to tell you what you really need to know about responding to your baby, keeping up your milk supply, and what to make of all the noise you are hearing after becoming a new mother.
